Overview

QR Wallet is a local-only utility for saving and organizing real-world QR scene images on iPhone and iPad. It is not a live scanner, QR generator, account service, or cloud platform.

Data storage

  • Scene images, titles, tags, notes, and optional QR text are stored only on your device (local files + on-device SQLite).
  • Preferences such as language, appearance, font size, home layout, search history, and recent access are also stored only on your device.
  • QR Wallet does not upload your library to developer servers and does not sync your data to cloud services.
  • If you uninstall the app, its local app data is deleted from your device.

Data we do not collect

  • No account registration, sign-in, or profile identity data inside the app.
  • No tracking, no advertising identifier collection, and no analytics SDK behavior profiling.
  • No sale of personal information.

Permissions

When you use related features, QR Wallet may request the following iOS permissions:

  • Camera: capture scene images you choose to save.
  • Photo Library (read): import images you choose from your album.
  • Photo Library (add): save original images when you export to Photos.

Permission prompts follow your system language. You can revoke permissions anytime in Settings > QR Wallet.

Sharing and export

  • When you tap Share or Export, content is prepared on your device and sent through Apple's system share sheet or Photos save flow only by your action.
  • Any transfer to third-party apps is initiated by you. Their handling is governed by their own policies.
  • QR Wallet does not expose your library through iTunes File Sharing or document browser access.

Apple Privacy Manifest

QR Wallet includes PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy and declares:

  • No tracking across apps or websites.
  • No developer-side data collection categories.
  • Required Reason API: UserDefaults (CA92.1) used only for on-device settings and lightweight local preferences.

This matches App Store disclosures: local-first storage, no analytics collection, no advertising collection.

Third-party code

QR Wallet does not include analytics, advertising, or social login SDKs. The only third-party dependency is GRDB, used locally to access on-device SQLite.

Diagnostic log

QR Wallet may keep a small on-device diagnostic log (up to about 1 MB) to help troubleshoot warnings and errors. In release builds, only warnings and errors are written; titles, QR text, and file paths are redacted before saving.

  • The log stays on your device until you uninstall the app or older entries are removed when the size limit is reached.
  • You can view, copy, or export it from Settings → About → Version History → Developer Log.
  • Nothing is uploaded automatically. If you contact us, you may attach the exported log yourself.

Feedback email (optional)

If you tap Send Feedback, the app opens your mail app with a prefilled draft (for example app version, build number, iOS version, and device model). It is not sent automatically; it is sent only when you choose to send it.

Regional privacy (EEA / UK — GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or the UK, the following also applies:

  • Controller context: your saved content remains under your control on your device; we do not host it on our servers.
  • Processing scope: the app does not require an account and does not transmit your library to us for storage or analytics.
  • Legal basis: local on-device processing is necessary to provide functions you request; no cloud profiling pipeline is used.
  • Your rights: you may access, edit, or delete data in the app anytime, or remove all local data by uninstalling.
  • Retention: data remains on your device until you edit, delete, or uninstall the app.
  • International transfers: QR Wallet does not transfer your library to our servers; any share/export transfer is initiated by you.

Regional privacy (California — CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the following applies:

  • No sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • No business-side collection of your saved library; content and preferences stay on your device.
  • Because we do not store your library on our servers, access/deletion requests to us are generally not applicable; you can delete local data by uninstalling.
  • Non-discrimination: we do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.

Children

QR Wallet is not directed to children under 13 years of age.
